Hey kids! Hope you are having a nice weekend because I'm not! Spent another evening in emergency because Marisol had a fairly intense reaction to some medication, and I'm at the school as we speak workin' away instead of playing outside! Oh well - I suppose things could be worse.

A few quick reminders:
  • picture retakes on the 20th (bring money or the old photos - there are extra packages in the office)
  • fundraiser pizza party on TUESDAY for 6A!
  • I need all of your fundraising paperwork in to me asap!
  • Have gym strip ready for PE - still basketball
  • make sure your locker is tidy and your binders are in order as well!
  • parent/teacher interviews are this next week ....Wed 3:35-8:30pm & Thurs 8:00am-12:00pm
  • have your parents check the GS Lakie home page to see the SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
HOMEWORK:
  • Math: finish lesson 11 duo tang worksheet and know your RULES
  • Science: finish tree cookie handout from Friday
BLOG ANSWER:
  • Optiomal conditions would have wide and evenly spaced rings.
  • Drought and slope are more conditions.
  • (thanks Lisa!)

A factor is a number that can be multiplied by another to make a factor of a number Ex. 2 is a factor of 4 because 2x2=4. The factors of 36 are 1,2,3,4,6,9 and 36. (Did I miss any?)
Thanks, Lisa

Factors are numbers that can be multiplied by another number to equal a specific number (36) such as
1 x 36
2 x 18
3 x 12
4 x 9
6 x 6
All the above numbers are multiples of 36. I like this answer better because it makes more sense to me.
