BLOG ANSWER:

  • a parachute is a device that uses drag to slow things down. When the air gets caught in the cloth, it makes you slow down and drift carfully down to earth.

BLOG QUESTION:

  • What are the steps you follow to go from a mixed number fraction to the equivalent improper fraction? EXPLAIN and give an example.

say the mixed number is 3 4\5, to change it to an improper fraction you take the 3{Whole Number}x4{Nominator}=12+5{Denominator}=17. So the fraction would be 17\5 because I use the same denominator in the fraction. Hey Im the first one on Horay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

improper 10/1

mixed number is 2 7/8
so you 2x8=16+7=23 and you keep the same denominator so it would be 23/8.

If the mixed # is 3 5/10, the improper fraction would be 35/10. (3x10+5=35)
Or whole number x denominator + numerator over original denominator = IMPROPER FRACTION!!!

hii mrs. V!!!
i finished my parachute!

blog answer:
if the mixed number was 6 5/3
then multiply the 6 and the 3 then add 5 to your answer. after that put your answer over the 3.
EX: 6x3=18+5=23 23/3

First multipliy the whole number with the denominator, then add the numerator (the awnser of this is the numerator) and the denominator stays the same! (Please forgive my messy spelling)

if the mixed number fraction is 5 6/10, you would multiply the 5 (whole number) by the 10 (denominator) then add 6 (numerator), which is 56, to get the numerator of the improper fraction. you would use the same denominator so the improper fraction would be 56/10.
see you monday!
