GOOD LUCK TO OUR SNOOPY CAST THIS WEEK!!!!
ALSO, WELCOME TO MRS. DUDAS!

ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE....WE NEED TO START SHOWING A BIT MORE FOCUS IN CLASS ON THE WHOLE AND GETTING A BIT MORE DONE. WE WERE ON A GREAT ROLL THERE FOR A WHILE BUT WE SEEM TO HAVE SLOWED DOWN A BIT AND WE NEED TO GET THINGS ROLLING AGAIN...ASAP!!!!

HOMEWORK:
  • Math: Decimal quiz Wednesday...use your worksheet we did/corrected together in class as your study guide. Also 6B - get that Math test signed or else you will stay in to phone home....6A - you will do the same tomorrow, once I have handed yours back.
  • Science: study your GO WITH THE FLOW answers from today as well as all AIR notes!

REMINDERS:

  • Healthy Habits - no TV/computer/video games tonight and get your parent(s) to sign the green sheet IF you make it!
  • I've ordered the scholastic books but I have new order forms for you for tomorrow!
  • Tell your parents about the cool HOGGIN' NOGGIN' challenge @ http://www.exambank.com/ and be ready for your next question tomorrow!
  • Snoopy all week... matinee for 6's tomorrow after lunch
  • active advisor in the gym tomorrow for 6A/B
  • remember there will be no PE for the rest of the week and a slightly modified timetable for all...remember to "CHOOSE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE" for the next few days!

BLOG ANSWER:

  • A BENCHMARK is a reference point to help us make sense of something new. We use benchmarks to estimate amounts in regards to time, length/distance, weight, etc... The example I used in class was a fisherman and his average catch, and Kali suggested her shoe size as a bench mark. GREAT!

BLOG QUESTIONS:

  • Name four ways a cyclist can make himself MORE aerodynamic...
  • Why would we want a car to be more streamlined? (3 reasons)
  • What does Aerodynamics mean?

it uses less fuel, cost less money 2.so we get more money out of it, and it is faster.
3.aroedynamics is the study of how air flows around things or how objects move through air.

1. areodynamic means how things flow and flow against things
2. saves fuel, saves mony and makes it go faster
3. crouch, wheels, tight clothes, and the special helment.

A cyclist could be more aerodynamic by:
1)bending over
2)having solid bike wheels
3)wearing a curved helmet
4)wearing tight cloth

We would want a car to be streamlined so that:
a)it is more fuel efficient
b)it goes faster
c)it costs less money

Aerodynamics is the study of how air flows around objects. Just for fun, A couple examples of things that are streamlined are swimmers, rockets, torpedos, missiles, penguins, cheetahs blah blah blah etc. etc. etc.

P.S. Thanks for the bunnys. I got a cute one and Garrett envys me and says "Hi!"
