- There are officially eight planets in our solar system according to the new information, excluding Pluto who is now a Dwarf planet. If you said nine that's OK too...for now until I tell you otherwise. Also, JUPITER is the LARGEST.
BLOG QUESTION:
- What are the three main differences between the INNER & OUTER planets? Why does it make sense that Pluto has been demoted as an OUTER planet?

The inner planets are closest to the sun and the are small & Rocky. The inner planets are inside the asteriod belt.
The outer planets are Far away from the sun and they are Gas Giants. The outer planets are outside the asteriod belt.
I think Pluto is not considered a planet because it is soooooooooooo tiny and sooooooooooooo far away.
And if it was considered a planet it would be an outer one and it's REALLY different from the other outer planets.
