HEY 6A AND 6B - THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST AND ENTHUSIASM IN MY PREGNANCY AND MY BABY! YOUR QUESTIONS AND NICE COMMENTS MAKE ME VERY HAPPY AND I'M SO HAPPY TO BE SHARING THIS EXPERIENCE WITH ALL OF YOU!

HOMEWORK:

  • Math: finish lesson 11 on multiplying decimals
  • Science: planet cards due Monday AND do the OUTER PLANETS REVIEW SHEET for tomorrow!
  • Other: Still waiting on some way overdue Sky Detective folders. Also, start thinking about what you are good at and what you are NOT good at in your core classes and options.

REMINDERS:

  • FISH FRIDAY staff vs rep team basketball game in the gym...please come in and cheer for Cooper or your favorite pregnant teacher (hint! hint!)
  • the newest edition of our newsletter is now available on our website...please check it out!

BLOG ANSWER: (FROM THE 12TH)

  • There are officially eight planets in our solar system according to the new information, excluding Pluto who is now a Dwarf planet. If you said nine that's OK too...for now until I tell you otherwise. Also, JUPITER is the LARGEST.

BLOG QUESTION:

  • What are the three main differences between the INNER & OUTER planets? Why does it make sense that Pluto has been demoted as an OUTER planet?

The inner planets are closest to the sun and the are small & Rocky. The inner planets are inside the asteriod belt.

The outer planets are Far away from the sun and they are Gas Giants. The outer planets are outside the asteriod belt.

I think Pluto is not considered a planet because it is soooooooooooo tiny and sooooooooooooo far away.
And if it was considered a planet it would be an outer one and it's REALLY different from the other outer planets.

See you on Monday!!!!!
