WHAT AN AWESOME FIRST WEEK!!!!

Not only has this past week been one of the smoothest start-ups I've had in my eleven years of teaching, but somehow I managed to get the two nicest classes (6A & 6B) in all of GS Lakie!

I too am looking forward to seeing you ALL on Monday and I can't wait to compete, have fun, and WIN our first advisor challenge next week!

I am very proud of all of you already for your enthusiasm, kindness, focus, patience and I am so happy to hear you loved your first week...So did I!

HOMEWORK/REMINDERS:
  • Do you have all of your school supplies?
  • Have you filled out and turned in your PE form?
  • Have you turned in the course outline form...read and filled in by your parent?
  • Have you given your parent the orange letter and reminded them to write me a letter about you? This is for 6A only... 6B received a similar letter from Mrs. R : )
  • Have you finished your fish folder? Your job fish?
  • Do you have a gym-strip ready for Monday?
  • Are you getting a Scholastic book order?
  • Are you taking your agenda home and bringing it back to school everyday?
  • Are you remembring all of the things you need for each class...especially your agenda and homework folder?

We will be starting our TREES & FORESTS Unit on Monday in Science and NUMBER CONCEPTS in Math. Looking forward to a challenging, educational, fun year in grade six? I sure am!!!

Hey guys!
If you are in 6B, you didn't get an orange sheet from me because Mrs. R sent home the same sort of letter to your parents...the orange sheet is only for 6A.

Mrs.v.,
My favorite estimation strategy is to divide whatener you have in fifths and and estamate how may objects are in one of the fifths. You then times that by five to get your estamation.
Thanks for teaching us today!!!!!
